Guest Speakers
Dr. Kathy Newton was appointed Associate Dean for Graduate Programs in the Polytechnic Institute at Purdue University in January, 2015, with responsibility for the MS and Ph.D. Programs, as well as ProStar, the Polytechnic’s Center for Professional Studies that houses multiple Weekend and Distance master’s programs, as well as workshops and certificate programs for industry. Dr. Newton is also Associate Program Head and Professor of the Supply Chain Management Technology Program in the Technology Leadership and Innovation Department.
Dr. Newton's presentation, Preparing for 2020: Upgrading Your Communications Skills for the New Business Era, highlights the importance of interpersonal communication in the workplace with a focus on enhancing the ability to communicate more effectively, and listening to learn and observe non-verbal communication cues in order to "read" your employees and your customers.
